The Canada Council for the Arts recently announced the nominees for the 2015 Governor General's Literary Awards. The GGs are Canada's national literary awards, celebrating the best in Canadian Literature and showcasing the rich diversity to be found there. The nominees are selected by a peer assessment committee for each category--fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, children's literature-text, children's literature-illustration, and translation in both official languages. With over 1600 titles submitted, the committees narrow it down to five nominees per category for the shortlist announcement.

Winners will be announced October 28th at 6:30 am EST on the GG Books website. A public reading and signing event will be held in Ottawa at the Canada Council on Dec 1st for the English-language winners, and on Dec 2nd for the French-language winners before the awards presentation at Rideau Hall.
