The anticipation for the Giller longlist reveal has been mounting for the last month with the Readers' Choice contest happening over on the CBC books page and finally it pays off with the announcement of said longlist on September 6th. We're very excited to see some indie publishers on the list, including a selection of our LPG member publishers.
Congratulations to Signature Editions and Genni Gunn for Solitaria, Coach House Books and Suzette Mayr for Monoceros, Biblioasis and Clark Blaise for The Meagre Tarmac, and the Readers' Choice winner, NeWest Press and Myrna Dey for Extensions.
An honourable mention shout out to Mother Tongue Publishing and Gurjinder Basran for Everything Was Good-Bye, which topped the Readers' Choice poll for the first three weeks of voting.
The shortlist will be revealed on October 4th and the winner will be announced at a gala event on November 8th, both in Toronto. To see the full longlist please visit the Giller Prize website.
