Retribution, written by Carmen Rodriguez and published by LPG member Three O'Clock Press, recently placed second at the International Latino Book Awards in New York City in the Best Popular Fiction -- English category.

Retribution spans over seventy years in the life of the Martínez family, from their daily existence before the 1973 military coup in Chile, to the horror that ensued; their flight to Canada as political refugees, and back to Chile again as one of the protagonists joins the underground resistance movement to the Pinochet dictatorship and looks for the remains of her disappeared husband.

The International Latino Book Awards are sponsored and presented by Latino Literacy Now, in partnership with Las Comadres para las Américas and Instituto Cervantes. For more information on the awards, please visit their website.
